Kind Words From Our Customers

I would highly recommend Penn! Paul was very detailed explaining my quote and the project detail’s. The quality of the work was outstanding. Paul even suggested adding the lattice underneath which I did not think of...Great work!

Very happy through quoting to finished deck. Just showed Paul, a picture of what we wanted and the finished project was better than the picture we started with.

Paul did an incredible job from coming to assess our deck issues to completion of project. They were friendly, reliable and extremely competent, which i can say from experience with other companies is not always the case. I will be referring him to others and calling him again when I'm ready to begin another project.

I can’t say enough about the way this company operates. They are not only professional but also socially responsible. They go out of their way to accommodate people and their PETS which makes them very attractive for future customers. I’m sure glad they came to work for me!!!

Your Questions, Answered

Railing & Stairs FAQs

  • Can you replace deck railings and stairs without replacing the whole deck?

Yes, in some cases, deck railings and stairs can be replaced while keeping the existing deck. The supporting structure must be in suitable condition for the proposed work. Penn Construction will evaluate your deck before recommending what can stay and what needs replacing.

  • Can existing deck stairs be moved to a different location?

Deck stairs may be relocated if the deck structure, yard layout, and available landing space allow it. Moving the stairs may require changes to framing and supports. Paul can help you explore a location that improves access between your deck and yard.

  • Can new railings and stairs match my existing deck or porch?

New railings and stairs can often complement an existing deck or porch, although an exact match isn’t always possible. Material availability, weathering, and the age of the existing finishes affect the result. Penn Construction can help you compare options for a coordinated look.
